People pay respects to Late King at dawn ceremony on Bhumibol Bridge

Bangkok,  5 December 2016 – Members of the Government and the Royal Thai Navy joined mourners and members of the public on Bhumibol Bridge to celebrate the life and work of His Majesty the Late King Bhumibol Adulyadej on the anniversary of his birthday on 5 December 2016.

In a moving ceremony that lasted from 05.00-08.00 Hrs. on 5 December 2016, people came together to remember the late king and his work to improve the lives of the Thai people. Deputy Prime Minster General Tanasak Patimapragorn was joined by Minister for Sports and Tourism H.E. Kobkarn Wattanavrangkul , Chairman of the Board of TAT Mr. Kalin Sarasin  and TAT Governor Mr. Yuthasak Supasorn as items were donated to 999 monks and everyone joined in a mass singing of the Thai Royal Anthem and the song Kwam Fan An Soong Sood (The Impossible Dream) which was composed by His Majesty.

The event ended with a mass balloon release over Bangkok; a city which the late King did so much to modernise and improve.
